The Realities of Marketing - Part V (Information)

We are coming along slowly with the subject of Internet Marketing and what should be considered realistic or unrealistic.

Over the past 4 posts I have discussed various issues related to either launching or taking an existing home based business into the future and
how we should not take for granted the upsides and downsides that will we will be faced with during our journey to eventual success or failure.

The internet is an incredibly massive space that is in reality in its infancy. We are only at the beginning of the internet evolution and many changes will take place as time goes forward.

Where does that leave us today?

For someone wanting to focus a portion or a work days worth of their attention to growing a business online, well I have said it once, I have said it twice and I have said it numerous times, that without a developed understanding of how the internet works, we have little chance to survive.

What I am trying to say is that if you are in the true infancy stage of starting an Internet Based Business, I am almost positive you have heard issues related to Keywords, Keyword Phrases, Long Tail Keywords, SEO, Adsense, Adwords, Keyword Tools, HTML and the list goes on and on. It is actually incredibly overwhelming as to what learning curves you need to experience to make it on the Internet. And the biggest scare is that even though you have learned a good portion of them and actually applied your knowledge, there is still NO guarantee that you will get well positioned on search engines to generate all the necessary traffic you will need to make money.

I mean it is like learning simple basic words out of the dictionary and once you have learned them you find out that there are 10 different ways to say them. Now imagine finding out after all that Internet Training that what you learned to create traffic is simply about how you say it.

So now you have to go out and search and search and search databases to find out how to say something in a specific way to improve those odds for getting traffic.

Now we could all choose the easier route and just pay for our sites to land one page 1, but I am going to presume that there is only a small percentage out there that really want to spend that kind of money.

I guess what I am trying to say in a nutshell is that we need to accumulate a substantial amount of information and knowledge on how to position our businesses accordingly to get the traffic, which ultimately leads to the sale of our services or products. There are many providers offering invaluable learning experiences online and I strongly recommend searching them out with diligence and only sign up with those that you are truly comfortable with or have been referred to.

Now I have mentioned several times in my posts a company that I have linked below which I feel is highly reputable and provide numerous levels of support. But what I like most is the slow and simplistic and well detailed approach to learning, especially for the Newbies.

However I will also state again that the electing to begin or further a home based business is no easy task and I hope you don't think it can be. You will need to put in your minds that this is a long term journey and that Rome wasn't built in a day. Neither was McDonald's or Apple. You have to treat yours the same way. Take baby steps and set small goals that you can realistically achieve and NEVER set yourself up for disappointment because we already know that it is a lot easier to quit than it is to start.

Good luck and we will see you again soon!
